2017 In-Utero Holsteiner

Mira17

Foal is by the impressive hunter stallion, Cunningham. More information, pictures, and video can be found at his farm's website, Cunningham.

This foal is out of the gorgeous mare, Piacenza, known here as "Mira" is a 1997 imported Dutch Warmblood (KWPN) mare.  She is by the International Grand Prix Jumper, Hamlet.  Hamlet is well-known for siring the great Hickstead, who was ridden by Canada's Eric Lamaze, and won countless Grand Prix events worldwide. He represented Canada in 10 Nations Cup classes.  His many international wins include the 2008 Olympic individual gold and team silver medalist, the 2007 $1 million CN International at Spruce Meadows and  team silver and individual bronze at the 2007 Pan American Games. Hickstead also won the $100,000 CN World Cup Grand Prix in Toronto in November, and the €175,000 Rolex World Cup Grand Prix in Geneva in December. Based on his performance record, Hickstead was ranked the number one show jumping horse in the world by the World Breeding Federation of Sport Horses (WBFSH) in 2008. He was also named 'Stallion of the Year' for 2008 by the KWPN.

Mira’s dam, Brigitte is by Pele, an excellent producer of both dressage and jumping horses in the Netherlands.  Pele’s sire, Abgar, is one of the most influential Thoroughbred stallions in the Dutch registry. Brigitte herself completed successfully at 1.35m, winning regional championships in Holland. Brigitte's dam, Edelweiz, was also an accomplished jumper, competing to 1.3m.

Mira has multiple half siblings competing internationally in the jumpers. Cougar (Calvaro Z x Brigitte) completed internationally at 1.45m and was sold to Italy. Corona (Coriano x Brigitte) also competed internationally to 1.3m. Brigitte is also the granddam of Olala (by Oviato) who jumped to 1.3m and sold to Canada.

Mira was trained to 1.3m and completed to 1.2m in Holland, then imported to the United States to enter hunter/jumper training.  She competed successfully at the A level for several years in both hunters and jumpers with her young riders, with numerous wins at HITS Ocala. This mare has a great temperament, spending part of her year as a lesson horse in a youth lesson program. She is an easy, uncomplicated ride and has quite the fan club. She has three lovely gaits and a powerful, scopey jump. She has produced several super foals for our program and every one of them has had her excellent, people-loving character.

In 2013, at 16 years of age, Mira was approved into the Main Mare Book for the American Holsteiner Horse Association. Her foals are eligible for registration through KWPN or AHHA. See more about Mira on her page of our website, including more picures, pictures of significant family members, and information and pictures of her previous foals.

Foal is offered at a great in-utero price with flexible terms. Will be registered with the American Holsteiner Horse Association. Price includes registration and care through weanling.
